ThinkAnalytics now serves over 2 billion recommendations every day with over 200 million subscribers under license
London and LA – February 27, 2018 – ThinkAnalytics™, Emmy® award-winning developer of the world’s most deployed TV search and recommendations engine and viewer analytics platform for pay-TV and OTT, today announced the appointment of industry veteran Gabriel Berger as CEO to lead the company’s next growth phase.
Gabriel’s appointment comes on the heels of a stellar 2017 in which ThinkAnalytics recorded continued increases in revenues and profits and added 14 new customers in the year. The firm now serves an average of 2 billion recommendations per day to over 200 million subscribers under license.
Based out of ThinkAnalytics’ Los Angeles office, Gabriel brings over 20 years’ experience in the media and broadcast tech sector. Most recently he spent three years as EVP, sales and operations, at Vubiquity, prior to the firm’s sale to Amdocs. Before that, he was SVP sales at Digitalsmiths, where he led the team responsible for securing contracts with seven of the top ten U.S. video service providers, prior to being acquired by TiVo.
“ThinkAnalytics is a technology powerhouse in the TV search, recommendations and viewer analytics space and a natural fit for my experience and skill set. I’m fascinated by the intersection of artificial intelligence and big data within entertainment and the need for actionable analytics that allow pay-TV and OTT players to fully engage with their customers and monetize their content as the battle for eyeballs intensifies,” said Gabriel Berger, CEO, ThinkAnalytics.
Eddie Young, chairman, ThinkAnalytics, commented, “2017 was a pivotal year for ThinkAnalytics as the industry spotlight shone on what we do best: machine learning/AI-fuelled viewer analytics, search and recommendations. We reached the milestone of 2 billion recommendations per day from over 200 million subscribers under license. With Netflix having 120m+ paying subscribers, this makes ThinkAnalytics amongst the industry leaders in providing truly personalized entertainment worldwide. Just like Netflix, our TV operator customers know exactly the content their customers want to see – and we make it easy for them to do so.”
“Gabriel joins at a time when we have broadened our product portfolio and are poised for further significant growth. He is a fantastic addition to the executive team with a strong track record in helping fast-growth technology businesses to achieve their full market potential,” added Peter Docherty, CTO and founder, ThinkAnalytics.
For over 15 years ThinkAnalytics has been providing advanced machine learning technology to TV search, recommendations and analytics for the media industry that increases viewer satisfaction, boosts engagement across all TV and video content platforms and increases operator ARPU.
