Management Team and Board of Directors
Eddie Young, Chairman
Eddie has over 25 years sales and management experience, largely in IT within major multinationals including IBM with whom he achieved considerable business and IT success. He left in 1990 to establish ACS(UK) Ltd as an IT Consultancy within the Enterprise business space and in over 16 years grew the company steadily and profitably to become one of the largest independent Microsoft Consultancy Partners in the UK and Europe with offices in Scotland, London and Paris. In 2006 DELL acquired ACS to form a significant part of their European Consultancy and Services Practice. As part of this transformation Eddie worked closely with DELL Senior Management for 18 months to successfully integrate the businesses and take the solution offerings to a much larger geography.
In 2001 Eddie, along with the management team of ThinkAnalytics, acquired the company away from its then Nasdaq-listed parent, Gentia. Since this time ThinkAnalytics has been run as a profitable private company, exploiting its undoubted leading technology (see Gartner) in the real-time predictive analytics, content recommendations and targeted advertising markets.
Eddie has an Honours degree in Economics from Aberdeen University and achieved a Masters at the University of Natal (SA).
Gabriel Berger, Chief Executive Officer
Gabriel has over 20 years experience in the media and broadcast tech sector. Most recently he spent three years as EVP, sales and operations, at Vubiquity, prior to the firm’s sale to Amdocs. Before that, he was SVP sales at Digitalsmiths, where he led the team responsible for securing contracts with seven of the top ten U.S. video service providers, prior to being acquired by TiVo.
Gabriel graduated in International Relations and Affairs from American University in Washington D.C. he is based out of ThinkAnalytics’ Los Angeles office.
Peter Docherty, Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Peter has over 25 years experience in software development, specializing in machine learning/AI, telecommunications and real-time systems. He has led the engineering group at ThinkAnalytics since 1996 in the development and delivery of the machine learning platform that is at the core of ThinkAnalytics’ product portfolio. Prior to that, Peter was a technical manager for Hewlett-Packard, responsible for the development of high performance telecommunications signalling monitoring software and he has held various lead engineering positions at British Telecommunications including System Designer for all projects within the award-winning BT Airline Interactive Services programme.
Peter sits on the Innovation and Industrial Advisory Boards of several institutions, graduated in Computer Science and Microprocessor Systems from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland, has an MBA with Distinction from the University of Strathclyde Graduate Business School and is a Chartered Engineer.
Simon McGrath, Chief Operating Officer
Simon has over 25 years experience working in the film and television industry, specialising in the design and delivery of technology solutions. Simon has worked across Europe, Latin America, Asia and the United States for some of the most innovative media and entertainment services and technology companies in the world.
Simon has held senior management and board positions in Concision Limited (which he founded), Lysis SA (acquired by Kudelski Nagravision), the On Demand Group (acquired by SeaChange International and Vubiquity), SeaChange, thePlatform (now Comcast Technology Solutions) and Deluxe Entertainment Services Group. During this time he designed and delivered software solutions to blue chip media and entertainment customers as well as launching new consumer services for telco service providers.
Simon trained as a computer scientist, wrote software for his first customers, before focusing on strategy, product development, marketing and business development. Simon joined ThinkAnalytics as COO and SVP Sales in March 2018 and is based out of the London office.
Tracy Geist, Chief Marketing Officer
Tracy has over 20 years of global executive experience in marketing, product management, partner and business development for Digital and Interactive Television, Digital Media/Entertainment, Telecommunications, Broadcast, and Converged Media. She is a recognized Digital Television/Media leader with a strong focus on industry partnerships and joint solutions through commercial partnership.
Tracy has extensive international and multi-cultural business experience with a global network of executive contacts across Pay TV, MVPD/OTT Operators, Content Providers and Consumer Electronics.
Tracy joined ThinkAnalytics in January 2019 to lead global marketing, product marketing/management, and strategic partnerships.
Richard Dowling, Senior Vice President Consulting
Richard has over 20 years experience in the predictive analytics, machine learning and artificial intelligence sector. He works with TV and media industry majors advising on personalizing the viewing experience with the use of recommendations and content discovery. Richard’s international role at ThinkAnalytics includes business development, technical pre-sales, through to customer deployments and implementations.
Richard joined ThinkAnalytics in 2000 and was promoted to SVP in June 2018. He previously worked in telecoms network performance management with ADC Telecommunications. He holds an honors degree from Cardiff Business School.
Rob Sowers, Senior Vice President of Sales
Rob has extensive experience selling emerging technologies into leading media & entertainment companies. He is most well-known within the Pay-TV and OTT market for his tenure as Digitalsmiths’ vice president of sales where he led the execution of their tier-one video service provider sales strategy from inception through Digitalsmiths’ acquisition by Tivo. Prior to Digitalsmiths, Rob was a key contributor in two high-growth SaaS companies: Netopia (acquired by Motorola) and Gomez (acquired by Compuware).
