London and LA, November 11, 2021 –– ThinkAnalytics, a global provider of cloud-based personalized content discovery, viewer insight, and targeted advertising solutions, today announced it has strengthened its executive team with the appointment of former Cisco, NDS and TiVo executive, Samuel Sweet, as CEO of EMEA and AP. In this newly created role, Samuel will report directly to ThinkAnalytics Chairman Eddie Young and will join the board.
Samuel has a strong track record in building and scaling high-growth businesses. This includes leading the TiVo business outside of North America, presiding over a significant increase in revenues, and winning deals with Sky, Liberty Global, Virgin and Vodafone. He also spearheaded the successful launch of TiVo voice services in APAC and set up TiVo’s advanced monetization and advertising business development function.
Prior to TiVo, Samuel managed the largest account in the Cisco Service Provider Video Software Solutions (SPVSS) business, following Cisco’s acquisition of NDS. With more than 25 years’ sales experience, including 10 years in private equity-backed start-ups, Samuel brings the ideal mix of commercial acumen, operational excellence and deep industry knowledge to ThinkAnalytics.
Samuel will lead ThinkAnalytics’ business as the company continues to grow, expanding its customer base and generating new revenue streams. The growth in streaming services and escalating content costs puts hyper-targeted personalized experiences at the centre of future video consumption and customer retention. ThinkAnalytics is well positioned to capitalize on this demand for personalised viewer experiences.
Samuel joins ThinkAnalytics as the global content spend for streamed services is estimated to hit a record high of $250B in 2021, according to Purely Streamonomics. At the same time, audience engagement remains a key issue for video service providers with super aggregation becoming an important challenge.
“Joining ThinkAnalytics at a time when viewers face an over-abundance of streaming services, content choice and device accessibility is an incredible opportunity. Making content discovery easy has never been more relevant and remains key in attracting and retaining subscribers. Think360 has the potential to become the industry benchmark for deploying hyper-personalized and context-aware services that will result in new monetization opportunities and enriched audience engagement and I am laser focused on making this a reality,” said Samuel Sweet, ThinkAnalytics CEO, EMEA and AP.
“We have known Samuel for many years, since working with him as a partner at NDS and Cisco, and we have always respected his experience and industry knowledge. He is the ideal person to lead ThinkAnalytics at a time when we are growing fast and reinforcing our position as the world’s largest independent provider of content discovery, viewer analytics, metadata and hyper-targeted advertising,” said Eddie Young, Chairman, ThinkAnalytics.
